Gudrun Ongman was born to an artistic family but chose to pursue a career as a nurse. Only after taking a sabbatical to raise her three daughters did she return to the arts she had studied at the University of Washington and in Europe, as well as various workshops and classes. She has exhibited in many galleries and won honors in numerous juried fine art shows. Her paintings can be found in a number of private and public collections. Gudrun also creats sculptures like the ones she created for The Sleep Ponies.
